25/10/2012
So you are a little jaded with the onset of winter - could handle some sun to round off the year with some spirited driving?
Bahamas Speed Week last call for entries below:
ALL OF THE BEST DRIVING ELEMENTS OF SPEED WEEK
ONLY $2,750 FOR TWO PEOPLE, INC SHIPPING YOUR CAR TO NASSAU *
ROOM AT THE SHERATON RESORT FOR JUST $109 PER NIGHT
ONE LUCKY ENTRANT WILL HAVE THEIR ENTRY FEE REFUNDED
Organisers listened to prospective entrants and it seems many were not so interested in the social side of Speed Week. They have therefore put together a new package, picking out the very best elements of Speed Week, for those of you who would rather concentrate on the driving opportunities offered in the beautiful Bahamas.
007 Island Tour and Lyford Cay Concours dElegance
Firstly, theres the 007 Island Tour and Lyford Cay Concours possibly THE most popular Speed Week event in 2011 and one which led the wife of Patron, Lady Susie Moss to declare at Goodwood recently You couldnt buy that run out to Lyford Cay, it was SO wonderful on those sunny island roads with the fabulous scenery flashing by at 135 mph! Last year she was heard to say that our police outriders were better than those on the Mille Miglia praise indeed! Certainly no road junction, red traffic light, one-way system or speed limit impeded our progress and those with road cars enjoyed the thrill of breaking the law as much as those with race cars enjoyed the almost unique opportunity of being able to drive them on public roads!
Once you arrive at the ultra-exclusive Lyford Cay and mingle with its residents (including the original James Bond, Sir Sean Connery) you will be treated to a sumptuous lunch in the Clubhouse while our Pebble Beach judges deliberate over the winners of the Concours awards.
After an even more scenic return journey, right in the wheel-tracks of James Bond, you are guaranteed to end the day with a smile on your face and to have tales to recount for months or maybe even years come!
Fort Charlotte Hillclimb
Two days later theres the fun and challenging Hillclimb up to the historic Fort Charlotte, with its commanding views from the highest point on the island. You may choose to be timed on your ascent or take your partner/guest for a scenic thrill. And you can make that choice each time you leave the Paddock, enabling you to have a mixture of runs if you wish.
Arawak Cay Sprint
With a view to going racing in 2013, the Arawak Cay Circuit is now longer and wider, thanks to the support of and the commitment made by the Bahamian Government. They will therefore be able to run small batches of cars starting together, four or possibly six at a time, in Demonstration Races. The competitive element will still be single cars against the clock but, due to the extended nature of the Circuit, will be held as a Pursuit Sprint with cars starting at ten second intervals. Once again, timing is optional.
Between your runs on both of these days you will be able to relax in our exclusive VIP Paddock Club, with great views of the circuit and the crystal clear azure sea beyond, enjoying the full relaxing Bahamian hospitality experience as you do so.
Organisers are offering all of the above for TWO people AND the return shipping of your car - from West Palm Beach directly into Nassau* - on an exclusively chartered ship for an amazing $2,750!
Whats more, one lucky person taking up theStirling Moss Package for drivers will have his/her entryfee REFUNDED and every 2012 Speed Week Entrant will have their name entered into a draw to receive a FREE ENTRY for the 2013 Bahamas Speed Week Revival !
If, once you arrive in Nassau, you decide you would like to participate in more of our Speed Week events, you would be welcome to purchase tickets for whichever of them takes your fancy (subject to availability).
And you can add a fantastic hotel rate to an amazing entry fee as organisers have negotiated an exceptional rate at the Sheraton resort of $109 per room per night plus taxes.
So, with the final hurdle removed, what is stopping you? Nothing, except perhaps not entering quickly enough as there are only 15 of these Stirling Moss Packages available. Please contact Entrant Coordinator Carol Mason for your entry pack or with any queries you may have.
